| 1/22/12 | In Seattle we are recovering from a week of winter wonderland! After many sled runs, a giant snow catapillar and much hot chocolate I'm back in the studio wrapping up new beauties for the Bellevue Art Museum Bennifit, INDULGE jewelry market place. Creating new rings with Oregon Sunstone in glowing orange, and the rosy glow of Srar Ruby paired with 22k gold and Sterling Silver.

11/6/11 | This Artist Feature from The Jewelry Observer gave me a chance to reflect on what I love about the art of making jewelry. I am going to elaborate on some ideas from this interview over my next few blog enties.
We are heading into a season of giving. I am busy in my studio making extra work for the holidays, and commissions for special gifts. The idea that a gift of jewelry is a gift of love, appreciation and honor is very powerful. Your jewelry holds personal meaning like no other art form. This is very inspiring and fulfilling for me. What a lucky artist I am who's work is so easily shared, framing a lovely face, stimulating a conversation with it's intruiging design.

10/25/11 | | Today was a great day, I had the honor of meeting Senior Fashion Editor for Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman who was visiting the Neiman Marcus store in my home town, Bellevue, Washington. The picture of elegance and style, Patel presented her accessory and style dirrections for fall/winter 2011. Showing the best of Neiman's designer collections Roopal emphasized jewelry in gold and silver with black and gold standing out. A favorite combination in my collections. Still in the spotlight are statement necklaces and bracelets, my faves. Thank you Roopal Patel for visiting Neiman Marcus Bellevue and sharing cutting edge style with your North West fans. | |

9/26/11 | This summer was full of inspiration, feeding my plans for new jewelry designs. Photography has become an important way for me to document inspiration from my garden, travels and the random flash of beauty that appears when you slow to take a closer look. The images I keep have captured pattens, sensual form and jewel like color. On my bench now are a new collection of rings inspired by my study of gems and the building blocks of their stuctures, crystal shapes, unique phenomena like asterism. I'm favoring greens this fall in the form of deep emerald green cat eye Tourmaline, gemmy apple green Crysoprase, and Contra Luz Opal flashing green, and firey orange. I don't mind the grey days of fall when I can be in my studio creating from the inspiration of summer. You can see new earring and pendant designs at the Bellevue Art Museum Store, Bellevue, Washington.

6/22/11 | This year I have been invited with a select group of artists to participate in Bellevue Art Museum's Artful Evening. Here is an opportunity to "walk the red carpet" with some of the regions most talented artists and patrons of the arts. My connection to the museum goes back 3 generations. Both my mother and my grandmother exhibited paintings in past Bellevue Arts Fair shows. I first volunteered at the Bellevue Art Museum when I was a high school student. You can join me in supporting the museum and acquire a beautiful one of a kind necklace from my collection. Click on the image of my necklace for the full details.
